Not far from the downtown, 5 minutes on foot. There's a great selection restaurants to choose from, like spices iii szechuan trenz, set within 5 minutes walk or so. In addition, there was private parking.

this hotel was good choice for exploring oakland, really loved it. there was lots of food for breakfast, including eggs, hot waffles and bacon.
